Howdy y’all!
Boy, it’s be awhile hasn’t it? How you likin’ my southern drawl?
So much has happened in the past two years, 2020, anyone? Hello? Yeah… Well, our family made a big decision after that. I left my lifelong state of California, and am now living in Tennessee!
Twenty-twenty was such a whirlwind with all the lockdowns, and masks, and school closures, I’m sure I don’t need to remind you. With the rules constantly changing, red flags kept going up everywhere for me. The buzz phrases, like “it’s for your own safety,” it’s to “protect others,” 😳 Where had I heard these before? I knew exactly what was coming.
Late in 2019, I was on a podcast with the hosts Robby Starbuck and his wife Landon. These fellow Californians had made the leap a few years earlier to Tennessee, and they spoke so fondly of it, I had to find out for myself. Fast forward a couple of months, and off we were to meet them in person! I remember being ecstatic that people were living their lives as normal, no masks, we could actually eat at a restaurant! Imagine that! Needless to say, we knew why the Starbuck’s had moved. We looked at over ten houses during a four-day period. On our way to the airport, heading back to Los Angeles, I asked my husband to take one last look at a house we had walked through. We had about 3 hours to spare before our flight. We looked… and we looked… in the yard… around the cul de sac… my heart was pounding.
I looked at Ricardo, and told him we have to do something. It’s now or never. We called our realtor, she came over right away, and joined forces with me trying to convince him it was the right thing to do. Even as a form of investment, not necessarily to live (wink wink). At this point, our civil suit was settled, we received the money and were able to pay off all our existing debt. We had money now to buy the house we had planned on buying back in 2015 when CPS kidnapped our children. But did we really want to go back to that place? After everything that happened? All the memories associated with it. We wanted a place we could raise our boys to be free and without fear. California had become a hub of pandemic induced fear. I knew the forced mandates would eventually lead to forced vaccinations, and I was not going to let that happen to my children again. If you need to refresh your memory about what happened to David read more here.
So, we bought the house that day! We moved in June of 2021, and we have no regrets. There were a lot of moving parts, literally, so I had to place my blog/book needs on hold while I placed my family first. Well, now’s the time! My book is FINALLY being published! I can’t wait to be able to share this story with parents everywhere. God has perfect timing. What parent’s all over America are witnessing right now, happen to their children under government overreach has allowed my message to be more widely accepted, and frankly, BELIEVED.
For those of you who have followed me, despite my absence, thank you 🙂💗
It’s (literally) a new chapter, and I’m excited to share what’s ahead as I settle into my new state. I plan to be very involved in local governance.
P.S. Fun fact: Robby Starbuck is now running for Congress!
So thrilled for you! You’re one tough mama and a warrior for justice. I’m honored to be helping you share your story. This is gonna be epic!!!!
Thank you so much friend! I can’t wait to see what God has ahead 😊
