How are y’all holding up? I know the previous three posts about what happened have not been an easy read, but I promise you there is a happy ending. Here is a glimpse of God’s grace! Meet Lucas, today, at 3 years of age. He is a happy boy! I remember calling my Ricardo from the hospital as he was on a plane making his way back home. I began to cry telling him Lucas had come out of surgery, but the doctor’s didn’t know if he would survive the next 48 hours. Ricardo responded,”He has given us much joy, and he’s going to give us much more. He’s in God’s hands. Everything is going to be okay.” God used my husband in that moment, and affirmed the word of The Spirit I had the same day.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.
Today, I took Lucas for a follow-up appointment with his neurosurgeon, and he is pleased with his progress. If you were to look at an image of Lucas’ head today (CT Scan), you would see there is a golf size fluid-filled sack on the lower half of his “left brain.” Basically, the brain tissue atrophied when it came into contact with blood, hence, that part of his brain is non functional. …
